The Seventh Book Revisited (Spoilers!)
During my recent excursion to Les Arcs, I read Harry Potter and the Final Moneyspinner. It's only fair to my readers that I evaluate my performance in guessing a synopsis to the last book.
First of all, my main premise that it would be a rip off of Star Wars turned out to be completely false. Had I gone with my second choice rip off, i.e. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, I would have been closer. Given that that fact completely wrecks my synopsis, it is surprising that I got one or two minor points right. The Harry, Ron, Hermione love triangle sub plot was pretty accurate except for Harry being Hermione's brother. One of the "bad" guys does redeem himself, but it's not Voldemort. There is a confrontation between Harry and Voldemort, but, considering that was a banker, J K Rowling does manage to give it a slightly surprising twist.
Book 7 is actually much better than book 6 and was quite a good read.
